Corporate & it's ethics

Adulthood, the age between 21-30 is the age of curiosity. We would like to experiment with anything and everything. The transition from adolescence to adulthood where everyone asks for your opinion, someone values your thoughts and yeah!! you are treated as an adult. Sounds exciting, isn't? That's true for sure. Young minds at office are the ones who energize the atmosphere, spread love and joy. You guys actually keep our boring works alive. You have fresh ideas in mind.

The transition period is quite tricky. We grow watching most of the movies which actually doesn't portray the reality of the corporate world. What is shown in movies today are far from the reality but we believe things as is. Most important things are love, handling relationships and public display of affection (PDA) in certain places that includes workplace, colleges and schools. 

Our education system doesn't include corporate ethics, sex education or even life skills. Youths of today are confused about love, lust and relationships. For me, PDA is acceptable but LUST is not. What is the difference? If people around you are comfortable when you show your love then that is acceptable. But if they show any sense of discomfort or uneasiness then it's a big NO. There is a place and time to do every action and your workplace is not the one. 

Why? 

Office of today has mixed generations. There are people in 40's, 30's and 20's. Any action you do, delivers a different message to each group. Not everyone feels Ok with your definition of PDA. Moreover, it's a workplace where people are doing their business. There are cameras everywhere around you and it is recorded. Before you involve in such acts, imagine whether your parents or any relatives will be comfortable watching the scene. I'm sure you will not be happy to see the footage of yourselves involved in such acts.

Probably no one would say this when you join any company but there are chances they may fire you on spot. I don't want you to be in the position of losing your job because of bad ethical conduct. 

Our eyes are deceived!

Young people enter corporate world believing that any personal actions will not affect their professional life. What made you believe that are the movies. Think before you act on something. Movies are centered on a plot and workplace acts a support for the character. Whatever shown is not the reality. 

I really wish that its high time that companies conduct sessions for the freshers about company ethics, the policies instead of just handing few papers and ask them to sign without knowledge. We are people who agrees to the T&C anywhere in few seconds even though it has thousands of words within. 

Better to act than to react.

Cyber bullying: Has anonymity invoked our evil side?

In the era of technology, everyone has a mobile phone and a social media account. Holding a social media account is seen as a status symbol for some reasons. Though media has reached nook and corner of this world, voice out our opinions, it has also became a threat for many. Anyone can defame anyone in the platform and it is done without any irk. We look down on a person who uses unparliamentary language in public but not in the virtual world.
